1st Hackathon LASER on Open Science

On May 24, 2025, we held the 1st LASER Hackathon on Open Science, an event designed to promote a culture of open science within our laboratory, with a focus on practices such as documentation, organization, and dissemination of research artifacts.
This event provided an excellent opportunity for us to jointly initiate the process of preparing and depositing data, scripts, and other materials that comprise our research, by the principles of Open Science and Open Data.

During the hackathon, we worked collaboratively on:
• Identifying and categorizing artifacts generated in ongoing research;
• Best practices for documentation, versioning, and licensing;
• Using scientific repository platforms such as Zenodo, OSF, and Figshare;
• Discussions on ethics, reproducibility, and the impact of openness in science.

Master's student Oscar won the hackathon
